Report FAQ's

Where Can I Get a Professional Binder and Paper?

We have a couple of professional printing partners we can recommend:

Pro-Soft Binders: based in the US, ship worldwide.

Professional Pilot Print: based in the UK, ship worldwide.

Both of these logbook printers offer fast services and choices for great-looking binders. They know how important logbooks are, and they'll work with you to ensure it turns out perfectly!

For a quick and simple solution, FedEx/Kinko's or a local print shop will usually work. They will have a variety of paper and binding options and they know how to print properly so you don't have to struggle through printer settings or lining up the orientation for double-sided printing. Just bring them a PDF and they'll do the rest.

How do I generate a report with only Flight data, no Simulator?

If you do not want to see any Simulator or other Non-Flying duties in your logbook reports,  all you need to do is create a smart group to filter data.

You can filter your data in an infinite number of ways using Smart Groups. For this article, we are going to use the easiest method which utilizes the Entry Type field

Make Sure you have the Entry Type field set to display then designate all flying duties as Flights (as signified by the little icon of an airplane):

Settings / Preferences menus

On the Mac:

Create a new Smart Group and change the "Show All logbook entry types" to "Flight."

Select this Smart Group so that only Flights are shown on the Logbook view and then go to the Report page to generate your report. If you generate a report while a smart group is selected only the smart group results will appear in the report.

On the iOS:

Go to the Reports tab and select your report and then select Configure Report. In the Options window you will have the option to designate an Entry Type. Change All to Flights and only your Flying entries will appear in the report.

How do I get Tipo time to appear in the Brazilian logbook?

According to Brazilian regulations, aircraft fall under two different classes:

  • MNTE - Single-Engine
  • MLTE - Multi-Engine

There is, however, an additional classification, names "Tipo" ("Type"). These aircraft require a specific qualification (Type Rating) to be flown. You can find additional details (in Portuguese) here.

How do I set up my logbook so that my flight time populates in the "Typo" column?

In the Brazilian logbook, "Tipo" is populated by Custom Time 1. You will need to fill this field for time to populate in the "Tipo" column.

Custom time can be found under Time > Custom. It can also be renamed "Tipo" for your convenience.

You will be now able to see your Flight Time under the "Tipo" column as shown below!
